Oh yeah. It's because I spent my summer watching this cutie pie, and I didn't get anything accomplished.
Would you get anything done? I love this little girl so much, and she isn't even mine. She has my maternal clock clicking like no other though, and that's incredibly depressing. :-(
So anyway, we've been back in school 2 weeks tomorrow, and it's been so busy, I have had no time to breathe! I have 2 new 1st grade teammates, and they've never taught 1st grade before, so I have suddenly become the "veteran" first grade teacher on our team. YIKES! This is only my 3rd year in first grade, and I don't feel anything like a veteran! But I'm working hard to help my very overwhelmed teammates keep their heads above water! So that explains my absence. That and being so exhausted I can't keep my eyes open when I get home!
On to the Currently for September!
Listening: Can I just say how much I LOVE Spotify! I love being able to make playlists of artists I want to listen to, and best of all, it is free. I just wish I could use it at school, but since I am signed up through Facebook and it is blocked, I can't. I guess I'll have to make another account! :-)
I also am in LOVE with Imagine Dragons. They're not usually the type of band I love, but I am obsessed with 3 of their songs, and Bleeding Out is the latest one. I just wish my local rock station played them more often! I am a little disappointed in them since I discovered Cincinnati Project. Too bad I don't live there anymore!
Loving: This 3 day weekend! LOVE IT! I went out with my friends for my birthday, which was last weekend. I am 29 now. OMG. I went to my 10 year high school reunion last weekend, so I didn't get to celebrate with my friends since I was out of town, so we went out for hibachi/sushi (my favorite!!!) and then went to a local bar we like. I discovered this great cider called Ciderboys. I want to drive to Wisconsin and get more IMMEDIATELY because it is THAT GOOD. I may like it more than Woodchuck, and that's pretty much blasphemy. On Sunday, I went indoor rock climbing with some friends, then out for lunch at another little bar we all used to go to during college. They also serve tasty food. :-)
Thinking: Don't you agree- every weekend should be a 3 day weekend? I would work a little longer during the week for this to happen! I would be so relaxed every week! :-)
Wanting: I am SO SORE after rock climbing yesterday. I have only been one other time, and I was sore then too. But YIKES! I fell from like 6-7 feet high 2-3 times yesterday. One of those times, I fell straight down and hit my stomach hard on one of the rocks. They may not be real rocks, but they still hurt! I can barely sit up or bend over or sneeze or cough, it hurts so bad! So my friend told me I needed to "learn to fall" which meant I had to climb up and essentially jump down from varying heights. I am not afraid of heights, but I'm not a fan of falling, so it wasn't fun, but necessary, since I am the queen of hurting myself! I also had to reach a few times to get to the next point in the route I worked on, and my stomach, thighs, hips, arms, and sides are so sore! But it will get better the more I go, and it's a great workout. Plus it's a challenge, and I love a challenge :-)
Needing: I never felt ready for Back to School, and I haven't really had time to finish up my room, so I have a LOT of work to do before Open House. Which means, I have a lot of work to do Wednesday night since Open House is Thursday! Yikes! Once I get it ready, I'll actually post some pictures of my classroom.
<3: I am so bad at this one. I saw that a lot of people posted 3 things. Well, I couldn't come up with a 3rd, so I feel kind of pathetic. But I need to learn to relax. And spending time with friends always makes me feel better! Maybe getting more sleep would be another aspiration? :-)
I will be back sometime this week (I hope!) with an update of my first few weeks of school, a new product I have been working on, and what I'm really excited about this school year!
I hope you all have a wonderful week! For those of you starting school tomorrow, I hope you have a wonderful first day! For everyone else, I hope your students are well rested and ready to learn!
