Yeah, I'm a little late linking up, but I'm avoiding trying to do anything productive (*cough* clean my living room, unload the dishwasher, put away some outdated holiday decorations *cough*) so link I shall!
Favorite Place to Shop
This is not a fair question! I swear, it isn't! I actually have several favorite places to shop, but they serve different purposes.
I love love love Target. I also hate hate hate Target! I think the love of Target runs in my family. :-) My first experience that I remember at Target is from when I was probably around 11 years old. A new Target (and the first in Cincinnati, where I grew up), was opening up in Middletown. From where we were living at the time, it was an hour away. But my poor mother hadn't been to Target (or Tar-jay as she calls it) since we had moved from St. Louis when I was 3, so we all piled into the car and drove 45 minutes north to the new Target. (This is not the most crazy thing my mother has done for the love of Target. She went out in a snowstorm because Target was having a good sale on... something... and left me, at like 5 months old, home with my dad.)
So yeah... I love me some Target. I love the Dollar Spot the best. I can stock up on all sorts of junk there! I probably have somewhere around 30 of those little buckets they sell in several different colors. And sparkly pencils. And other odds and ends. :-) I peruse the clearance sections like it's my job. I drool over holiday decorations and cute pillows. I don't think I've ever left that store empty handed. Man, I love Target.
Another place I never leave empty handed? Hobby Lobby. If your state doesn't have the heavenly experience that is Hobby Lobby, then you are missing out. They have practically every crafting item you could possibly need. The cutest seasonal items, home decor, scrapbooking stuff... I could go on and on. I may as well just sign my paycheck away to them now.
Another favorite is JoAnn Fabrics. They have some great fabric. I've been shopping there a LOT lately getting cute fabric for my taggies. It'sexhilarating to browse through all those aisles and aisles of fabric. And we just got a new JoAnn Fabrics store so now we have 3! :-) Yes, I'm a happy girl. Plus, they offer a 15% discount for teachers that I abuse every single time I go there.
The last store I can say is my favorite is my favorite place to shop for "teacher clothes". My absolute favorite pair of pants in the whole wide world came from New York and Company. I love this store. Especially when they run awesome sales, which they do all the time. They have great clothes and their petite pants *gasp* ACTUALLY FIT. It's amazing. Plus they have different patterns and types of pants. I've bought some shirts there before, but any store that has petite pants that fit my big hips and bottom is the store for me! Though they are currently getting a run for their money with JC Penney's Worthington Curvy dress pants. More amazing. :-) If you are short and generous around the hip area, check this store out.
OK, now that I'm done talking about shopping... :-)
Favorite Sweet TreatHmmmmmm... this is a toughie. I find it hard to really say I have a favorite. I guess I would say cheesecake. I love cheesecake. Or brownies. I also love brownies. Mmmm.... now I need to go make brownies.
Favorite RestaurantI live in a city with a ton of absolutely amazing local eateries. I don't take advantage of it nearly often enough. And my favorite little restaurant, which was in walking distance from my house, was called Zeppelin Cafe. They served their sandwiches on pretzel bread. Soooo good. I even got my mom hooked on it, and when she'd come with my dad to help me on the house, she'd ask to go there. When they closed, I was heartbroken. *Tear*
So my other favorites?
Dragon Kings Daughter: They are like a Japanese Fusion restaurant. Amazing sushi, but my favorite thing to get there is called a Sashimi salad. It's so good. They also have these awesome desert sushi rolls. Yum yum. This is a picture of one of their tacos (possibly the kimchi beef?) but you can see how mouthwatering it looks.
Another favorite place is called Cafe Lou Lou. It's the cutest little place, full of local artwork and bright colors. Oh, and some amazing food. I couldn't find a picture of the outside, but this is what it looks like inside. Minus the flags- I've never seen those before! I love their Shrimp and Grits. They are buttery and garlicky and amazing! They also have pizzas, pastas, and sandwiches, including the Gyro roll. So yummy! My best friend loves it too, so whenever she comes home for a visit, we almost always go.
As for a place most of you may actually have heard of, I also love Qdoba. I used to work next to one, and I got hooked. And probably gained a few pounds from their yummy queso! My favorite is their 3 cheese nachos, but I also love their burritos, quesadillas, and their seasonal Mango salad. I can't wait for summer! One of our local Qdoba stores also serves breakfast, and I love their breakfast burritos. Yum.
Now that I've wasted plenty of time... I guess I should go be productive! :-) Have a wonderful evening, everybody!
