Halloween Math Centers for Common Core

I finally finished my Halloween Math Centers.  I wanted to add more, but I just ran out of time.  Maybe I'll work on adding some new stuff to these centers and add it later.  It is for sale here for $3!  There are 6 centers included, which cover some of the Common Core standards for first grade.  All of the games come with directions, and 3 of them come with recording sheets so you can assess what your students know.  All you need are some dice and some cute little Halloween erasers as counters!

Here is a little preview for you:
Trick or Treat Base Ten- your students will match the base 10 blocks to the number.
Cooking Up Some Magic- an addition fact game.  Students spin a spinner to determine how many spaces they can go, then choose a card to answer.  If they can correctly answer the question, they can move.  If not, they have to stay where they are.

Time for Tricks- a matching game featuring time to the hour
Slide to 120- students roll a die and move that many spaces.  The student to get to 120 wins!

A new version of an old favorite!  Halloween Yahtzee!

Trick or Treat tens- students practice making combinations of 10 with these adorable cards.

Again, you can purchase these 6 awesome games for only $3 here.  I hope you can find this useful!  I printed it out the other day and laminated it to use this week in my math tubs- my students are going to love these games!

Little Friendly Ghost freebie

I created another Little Friendly Ghost freebie for you!  I hope you can use it.  It is a skip counting by 5's activity for math centers.  The students put the numbers in order by 5's to 120 to meet the 1st grade Common Core Standard.
You can find it here: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Little-Friendly-Ghosts-Skip-Counting

I will also be linking up with Graphics From the Pond's Linky party.  Go check out this post for tons of cute activities featuring these adorable little ghosts- some are even free!

Please leave me some feedback if you use it!

Working on something fun!

I have been working for the last few days on something fun for Halloween.  I can't wait til it's finished so I can share it with you!  I can't wait to use it in my own classroom- it's super cute so far!  But whew, this is a lot of work!

Here is a little sneak peak of what I've been working on!  (These are from 3 different activities- not related in any way!)

So excited!  I hope I get this finished soon, but first, I really NEED to work on a presentation for my class on Thursday night.  I hear my professor is a tough grader, so I need to get my behind in gear PRONTO!

Have I mentioned that I love Halloween?  Costumes and candy and spooky stuff are so much fun!

Another freebie on TPT!

I had 62 people download my first activity on Teachers Pay Teachers!  And 2-3 pinned it too, apparently!  I am so excited!  I created this activity a while back to use in my own classroom, and I thought I'd go ahead and share it too!  It's not fancy, but maybe somebody else will find it useful?

It is a simple addition matching task.  The student will match the addition problem to the apple tree that it is equal to.  If you notice, the number of apples on the trees are equal to the number on the tree.  There is also a recording sheet that is included if you want to use it with your students!  (Which reminds me, I need to print that out to go with it for my students!  Oops!)

This activity meets the 1st grade standard 1.OA.3.

You can download it here. :-)  If you download, PLEASE give me some feedback.  Preferably good?

I guess now that I have procrastinated for a really long time, I should get my behind in gear and work on my report cards that go out on Friday!  I wish they would just write themselves... I'm not feeling it this time around! :-(

Currently October

Look at me!  2 posts in ONE DAY!!!  I wasn't going to do this, because I couldn't really think of a festive book for October, but I finally thought of SOMETHING.  Phew!  I really wanted to put Debbie Diller's Math Work Stations, because it is what I am currently reading and I'm loving it!!!  I can't wait to finish it and use those awesome ideas in my classroom!

Don't you just love that font?  It's from Graphics from the Pond and it's called Scrappy!  A new favorite!

If you decide to do currently, don't forget to link up with Farley, and don't forget the rule of 3!  Some people don't play nice and as she said, it does hurt feelings. :-(  So... share the love!  And have a wonderful week!

Little Friendly Ghosts Roll and Cover

I just posted my first activity to Teachers Pay Teachers!  And I am so excited!

Apparently, your first item posted to TPT HAS to be free.  But that's ok, because I was planning on offering it as a freebie anyway, because, well, who wants to buy something from somebody who they don't know?  Not me!  So anyway, here it is!  I used Mel's "Little Friendly Ghosts" clip art to create this activity, and they are so cute!

So the file includes 6 different versions of Roll and Cover games, both addition and subtraction.  For those kiddos who are way past simple addition and subtraction, I also included 2 versions with base 10 blocks instead of numbers, making it slightly more difficult for them. :-)  For those kiddos who still don't know their numbers, I added a roll and cover activity for numbers 1-6.  I thought about adding a 1-12 activity too, but I didn't know if anybody could use it.  I like it when things are already differentiated for me!  If you download, I would really appreciate if you would leave me some feedback, either here or on TPT!

Here is the link, since I can't seem to figure out how to link my pictures to the page and I'm too lazy to figure out how!  http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Little-Friendly-Ghosts-Roll-and-Cover  Hope you enjoy it!

And I also linked to the Little Friendly Ghosts Linky Party!  There are lots of activities over there that people have created and shared.  Some are free, and some are for sale.  Head on over there and download some super cute math and literacy activities featuring these adorable little ghosts!
